World Reading Day Observed Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School G.T. Road
Keeping in view the importance of
reading in a student’s life, world reading day was observed in the school
premises by the students of Senior wing.
To sensitize the students about reading habits Mehekdeep Kaur of IX A
spoke on the importance of reading highlighting that our mission is to educate,
develop and inspire children from diverse background to widen the horizon of
reading. Jasnoor Singh of IX C recited a
poem on Book reading. To inculcate good reading habits, students of IX std.
visited Khalsa College library along with senior librarian Mrs. Ranjot
Kaur. Director/Principal Dr. Dharam Veer
Singh in his motivational speech stated that all students should cultivate the habit
of reading as reading broadens the vision and enables the person to be more
knowledgeable. Headmistress Mrs.
Kawalpreet Kaur in her speech urged the students to read more and learn more as
reading makes a full man. Headmistress of Primary Section Mrs. Ravinder Kaur
Narula also motivated the students to read more and participate in all the
learning activities. To mark the occasion and to develop good reading skills
with rich vocabulary students of primary and senior wing devoted 40 mins in
reading any book of their own choice.
