Spring Daleans become a part of
nationwide reading activity
AMRITSAR, NOVEMBER 30: Students of Spring Dale Senior School joined their counterparts
across the nation in an activity titled ‘One
Nation Reading Together’ aimed at promoting the habit
of reading books among the youth to emerge as effective future
leaders. The activity aimed at nurturing a love for books in the hearts of the
students.
Led by Ms Harneet Kaur Bubber, Vice Principal, Spring Dale Senior
School, the students also took a pledge to make reading an
indispensable part of their lives so as to become an asset for the society that
they live in. Talking about the activity Mr Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal,
Spring Dale Senior School, said that the students sat in a ‘Read for Mind’ formation
during the activity.
“This activity is held annually to enable students to understand
the importance of inculcating a habit of reading. One Nation Reading Together is
a nationwide initiative in which
millions of children, parents and teachers around the country spend a day
celebrating the importance and enjoyment of reading,” he said.
He added that in pursuance with the aim of promoting the habit
of reading the school had a well-stocked library. They maintained
that the school also encouraged the habit of reading through the
concept of ‘DEAR’ (Drop Everything and Read) time given by its founders
late Dr Shivinder Singh Sandhu and Mrs Manveen Sandhu.
